These terms govern your use of the skateable. mobile application ("the app") operated by Paul White ("we", "us"). By using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
skateable. provides skateability scores based on weather data, spot attributes, and community reports. Scores are estimates, not guarantees. Always assess conditions yourself before skating. We are not liable for injury, property damage, or loss arising from reliance on the app.
The app works without an account. If you create an account for Crew membership, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You must provide a valid email address. One account per person. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, contact us immediately at hello@skateable.io.
Crew membership is a one-time, non-recurring in-app purchase processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We do not handle payment details directly.
Free users retain full access to core features including skateability scores, session logging, community reports, photos, and planned sessions. Free accounts are limited to 10 saved spots. We will not retroactively lock existing features behind membership.
You may submit content including spot names, locations, session reports, condition tags, notes, photos, community notes, trip plans, and ratings. By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute that content within the app and related services.
skateable. has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. The following is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate content removal and account termination:
Filtering. The app enforces a profanity and slur blocklist on all user-submitted text, including spot names, session notes, community notes, trip titles and route notes, usernames, and display names. Violating submissions are rejected both in the app and on the server.
Reporting. You can report any user, session, profile, trip, shared session, or community note from within the app. Open the item and choose "Report". You can also contact us directly at safety@skateable.io or through Settings > About & Support > Safety > Report inappropriate content.
Blocking. You can block any user from their profile or from any of their posts. Blocked users will not appear in your feeds and cannot see your content. Manage blocked users in Settings > Blocked Users.
Our commitment. We review and act on every report within 24 hours. Content that violates these terms will be removed and the responsible account will be ejected. Content that receives three or more independent reports is automatically hidden pending review. We also reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts proactively.
Deleting your own posts. You can delete any session, trip, shared session, photo, or community note you have submitted at any time. Deletion is immediate.
Homie connections require mutual consent (request and acceptance). You may remove a homie or block a user at any time. Shared sessions are visible only to selected recipients. Do not use social features to harass, spam, or impersonate other users.
Profile visibility is your choice. Profiles are Private by default. You may set your profile to Homies-only or Public at any time. Public profiles are searchable by all users and can be shared via link. You control separately whether your username appears on logged sessions. If you switch from Public to Private, existing share links will show a "profile is private" message. We do not guarantee that cached or screenshot versions of your public profile will be removed from third-party services.
Social media handles (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) are displayed on your profile based on your visibility setting. We do not connect to, verify, or access your social media accounts.
You agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, abuse the platform, or engage in behaviour that harms other users. Where possible, we will notify you before taking action. Suspension does not entitle you to a refund of membership purchases.
You may delete your own account at any time from Settings > Privacy & Data > Delete Account. See our Privacy Policy for details on what happens to your data.
Weather data is sourced from third-party providers including Open-Meteo, MET Norway, MET Office, and OpenWeatherMap. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this data. Skateability scores are algorithmic estimates, not measurements of actual conditions.
The skateable. app, its design, code, branding, and the Skateboarding Dryness Engine are the intellectual property of Paul White. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the app or its components without written permission.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. This includes but is not limited to: injury while skating, reliance on scores or weather data, loss of data, or interruption of service.
Our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid for membership, if any.
We aim to keep the app available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Weather providers, servers, or the app itself may be temporarily unavailable. We are not liable for downtime or data loss caused by factors outside our control.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app (via the news feed or a notification). Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where local consumer protection laws grant you rights in your own jurisdiction.
